Common in higher areas of Kenya from Embu to Rift Valley to Western Kenya. Common in disturbed grassland.

The Luo community uses it for Migraines (wich bar) The whole plant is dried and ground into powder, one tablespoon is boiled in 1 liter of water for 10 minutes, and after cooling it's administered half a glass twice a day after meals for 5 days.
The Kikuyu use it to manage Malaria and Fever (Guturwo na Mutwe ).Fresh leaves or dried are boiled in water for 10-15 minutes, then taken, 1 glass three times a day for 3 days
The Luhya use it for stomach aches. The powder is soaked in a liter of water, then given half a glass twice a day before meals for 2-3 days
Important Information
Use with care as this plant can be toxic. Do NOT use the bark. Only use the leaves.
