Plant Details and use
The Rabai community uses it to treat menstrual problems. Its roots are boiled and drunk for 3 days. They have also been used for other conditions like stomach ulcers. The seeds are dried, mixed with hot water or tea, and drunk for 2 weeks. Its leaves can also be used to treat ulcers. The seed can also be used for deworming, meat tenderization, and amoeba treatment. They are air-dried to avoid the destruction of active ingredients.
Among the Luhya, it has been used to treat chronic wounds.
In the Digo community, the plant has also been used for medicinal purposes. Its seeds are mixed with those of croton megalocarpus. They are dried and crushed to powder. The powder is boiled and drunk to treat stomach ulcers, stomachache
