Plant Details and use

In Kisii, it is used to relieve pain through massage.  Its leaves are used to treat stomachaches. They are crushed, mixed with water, and drunk. A ½ spoon of the sap is given to young infants to treat stomachache. It is also used in the ripening of bananas. It is used during peace ceremonies whereby elders dip it in traditional brews and use it to spray on people. It is placed on boundaries during land division to mark boundaries. 
In Luo community, it is used for cleansing.
The Turkana use it to treat burn wounds
