The plant is easily grown on farms. It has been used in the management of Arthritis, Cancer Chickenpox, Diabetes, Eye infection, Jaundice, Memory loss, Menopause, Menstrual problems, and TB among other conditions.
For red eyes, conjunctivitis, and to improve eyesight, the leaves are steeped in hot water and washed with it.
