It is used for gonorrhea together with Ficus capensis. Mix the 2 plants and boil. Drink 3 glasses a day for 3 days. It is also used to manage boils. The tender leaves are crushed and applied on the boil.  For nerve problems, the leaves are boiled and taken 2 glasses a day. The Ogiek community use it to manage low fertility in women.
