Kedrostis foetidissima

Luhya: Likunietse, Luo: Ang'we,

Family: Cucurbitaceae

Different communities use the plant to manage sour throat.  1 liter of boiling water is poured over a handful of leaves and left to cool.  1⁄2 glass of the infusion is taken twice daily.
For skin rashes and measles in children, a handful of leaves is crushed and soaked in 3 liters of cold water for 3 hours. The solution is then used to bathe the child once daily to soothe the rash. Some are set aside and given to the child to drink 2 times daily for 7 days.
It is also used to manage constipation.
