The plant is used for diarrhea and dysentery. The tubers are grated, dried, and ground to powder. ½ a glass of hot water is mixed with ¼ teaspoon of the powder and taken twice a day before meals.
It is also used for the management of pneumonia. 2 grams of the root powder is mixed with 1/2 liter of hot water. it is sweetened with 6 tablespoonfuls of pure honey and drunk early in the morning before breakfast for 3 days.
For gonorrhea, a tablespoon of the root powder is boiled in 1 l of water for 10 mins. tI is then left to cool, then strained and drunk, 1 cupful thrice for 2-3 days.
