To manage anemia, leaves of the plant are cooked and eaten as vegetables. Alternatively, 1 tsp of leaf powder is dissolved in 1 glass of warm water and drunk 3 times daily. For children, 1 flat tsp is used in 1 glass of warm water or porridge. 
For fungal infections, seeds are crushed and dissolved in water, then used to bathe the hands and seeds in that solution. An ointment can alternatively be made from the seeds and applied twice a day after cleaning with warm, salty water. The seeds are also chewed for tooth cavities. Seeds are also good for asthma, chew 2 twice a day. roots can also be chewed for toothaches.
Generally, the plant is known to be good for Immune Booster, High Blood Pressure, Anti-inflammatory, Gastric ulcers, Arthritis, Gouts, Weight loss, Anemia, HIV, appetite loss and Depression
